The Scalp Vein Set is a medical device designed to provide quick and easy venous access, especially in cases requiring short-term or repeated infusion. It is specifically engineered to enhance patient comfort. The set features a short, beveled silicone needle that facilitates atraumatic cannulation with minimal tissue damage. A thin-walled needle with indicator hub is used to ensure high flow rates.
The butterfly-shaped wings of the scalp vein set enable secure placement on the skin, preventing accidental displacement and reducing the risk of snagging during use.

Venous Access Using a Scalp Vein Set
Scalp vein sets are supplied in sterile, single-use packaging. The stainless steel needle measures approximately 1.5–3 cm, with sizes ranging from 17G to 25G. The larger the gauge number, the smaller the needle diameter.
The set includes flexible wings for stabilization, a 10–30 cm kink-resistant tube, and a capped connector for attachment to a syringe or IV line. Smaller gauge scalp vein sets are suitable for thin veins or pediatric patients. The short needle length minimizes discomfort and tissue trauma, although the rigid needle makes the set unsuitable for long-term IV access.
