A Turkish physician has developed a urine kit to detect Kovid-19. Physical therapy and rehabilitation specialist Dr. Mehmet Serhan Kurtulmus reported that he developed a kit in which amino acid and secondary microprotein structures specific to the SARS Cov-2 virus can be detected in urine thanks to a special reactant.

SARS Cov-2 virus

Our goal is to conduct this test, which is based on the principle of detection of amino acid and secondary microprotein structures specific to the SARS Cov-2 virus in urine thanks to a special reactant, and therefore we call the foaming test, so that people are screened for Covid-19 in the fastest and most accurate way. In this way, those who have a virus load can be quickly treated, those who do not have a virus load can also continue their daily normal life, so that there are no Labor losses, and patients who are receiving treatment can also easily control the treatment processes. The Test is the first urine test on this subject, and it can give results in 15 seconds.

It is very easy to do this test, which determines the burden of the virus found in the body. You put some urine in the urine container in the Test kit. You place a vacuum tube in the Test kit containing a special reactant in the area above the urine container. After enough urine comes into the tube as indicated, you shake well in the direction of up and down for 15 seconds. You evaluate the amount of foam formed in the test tube according to the color scale on the tube. In this way, even if you do not have any symptoms, you can check for a virus load in your body. If you have some clinical symptoms, you can also determine whether it is caused by Kovid-19 or another source of infection.

Physical therapy and rehabilitation specialist Dr. Mehmet Serhan Kurtulmuş, they received a license from the Ministry of Health for the urine kit they developed, and they achieved 95% success in the urine test trials they developed. COVID – 19 Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The first case was encountered in December 2019 in Vuhan, Hubei province, China. It has continued to spread since then, causing a pandemic that is still ongoing. COVID-19 symptoms are usually deciduous, but symptoms such as fever, cough, fatigue, difficulty breathing, anosmia (loss of sense of smell), and loss of sense of taste are common symptoms.

Symptoms appear within one to fourteen days of contact with the virus. About one in five people who are infected have no symptoms. Although most people experience mild symptoms, some people may experience acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). ARDS can cause cytokine storms,[4] multiple organ failure, sepsis and thrombosis. Long-term damage to organs (especially the lungs and heart) has been observed.

How To Conduct Urine Tests

Urine tests are among the methods used to diagnose many diseases Dec. 100 ml of urine is placed in a sterile container given to the patient, and then routine procedures are one of the main elements of the urine test. Urine taken from the patient is sent to the laboratory by closing the lid without disturbing the sterility. It is then taken for macroscopic and microscopic examinations.Collecting and storing a urine sample is very important.

The best urine sample is fresh and concentrated. The most preferred for tests is a urine sample taken in the first hours of the day and on an empty stomach. In this way, we can get the most accurate information about many parameters.

Urine analysis should be performed immediately if possible. It is recommended to leave at room temperature for no more than two hours and in the refrigerator for 4 hours. Fresh non-studied urine samples can cause the test results to be misleading and the diseases to be undetected.

A urine sample that will be used in a urine test should be stored in containers with certain properties. Urine containers with a volume of at least 50 ml and an opening of 4 cm are quite ideal for tests. The container in which the sample is collected should be tightly closed, so that it is not affected by any external factors. In order to protect health workers from urine or urine from health workers, non-leaking containers should be used.

In addition to urine containers, vacuum or screw cap urine tubes and urine transfer rods are also preferred. The label attached to them contains important information such as the patient’s name, surname, and medications he or she uses. In this way, the mixing of urine tests is prevented.
